R-C card hit for a second time in 6 months, this time with 2 fraud charges. Chase caught it and e-mailed me. This is a sock drawer card, hasn't left the house in 8+ months, only used online at Southwest.com 3-4 months ago, but nothing else.

So apparently the >=$0.00 text alert will not send you a message if you use a Chase card at a gas station. Even if it's just to buy drinks inside and not actually to pump gas. Guess I need to add the gas station text alert too.
Speaking of that, what text alerts do you guys have enabled? Any other oddities I should be aware of? |
At this point alerts for all purchases, both text and email (especially when traveling abroad). This proved to be useful after a family member used the CC mistakenly for cash advance instead of debit card. I was able to avoid a significant interest charge by paying off the balance almost immediately. I also changed the alert receiving time set up to 24/7. The text alerts are immediate, many times I get the text even before I receive purchase receipt.
I also have the payment due and posted alerts set up. |

My CSP was hit with fraudulent charges in the first week of November. I got a new card, and saw it was hit again today with 3 more fraudulent charges. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but in all my years I've only ever had one fraudulent charge on a card, and that was my AmEx BCP I used almost exclusively at a local grocery store chain that got hacked so that's easily explainable. Two separate instances of fraud on Chase in a month makes me wonder if there's something more going on.
Chase's fraud department has been excellent to work with and reversed the charges and overnighted a new card without me even asking, but it's just a pain in the arse. Now I have to update all my subscription services and everything. |

A week later someother charity company charged 5 $ and refunded 5 $ back to my freedom account . may be they might done a test run. this time called and cancelled my old card and got a new one. |

Had some fraudulent charges on my CSP four weeks ago. Got overnighted a new CSP. Two weeks after, had fraudulent charges on my Freedom. Got overnighted a new Freedom. Last week, my CSP was compromised again. This time they changed the number before overnighting me a new card.
All the fraudulent charges were caught by their system and I got emails/text messages when they happened. When I spoke to the representative last week, they mentioned that all the charges have been either online or originating from southern California. I asked if this is related to skimming, but the representative said recently thieves have been generating Visa numbers and when they find a valid one, they program the magnetic stripe on a card and try it out either in store or try and use the numbers online. The fraud department will catch it because the address/CCV doesn't match for an online order and the chip doesn't work on the programmed magnetic stripe cards. It's annoying to have this happen to me three times in the past month, but at least they are catching it. |
mother in law opened csp and added me as AU to help her learn UR. tonight, $1 spent at a sprint store in another state. no spend has put on this card, she activated it and waited on me to tell her how to use it.
this is a chase problem, not a user problem. how can cards be delivered to peoples homes and be stolen within days? We have notified chase and are waiting on new cards. |

Why didn't Chase cancel the card right away when you first alerted them of the fraudulent charges? I thought that was SOP for any bank.

My CSP got a fraudulent charge earlier this month, two weeks later, my new CSP account got another fraudulent charge. I thought I was just unlucky, but this seems to be happening with disturbing frequency for Chase.

4th time in 2 years my CSP has been compromised. Every time the agent confirmed to me someone outside the country had guessed the CC number, but since they don't have the exp. date or CVC#, transaction was flagged.
Shared my privacy concerns with supervisors every time but they seem unfazed and said that this happens to all banks. In my experience though, I have 10+ CC and had 5 issues in the last 5 years, 4 of them being CSP. Asked for some gesture from the bank, at least a waiving of my annual fee, but was rejected twice before, not sure if this time I will get it. My interactions with the banks left a bitter taste. They seem to believe that since they flag it and pay for everything I shouldn't care. Didn't perceive any worries about customer having privacy concerns and all the hassle that updating automatic debit represents. |
Just caught fraudulent charges on one of my Chase accounts for the third time this year. A charge for $600-something generated a fraud warning text that I responded "NO" to. I immediately logged on to my account and saw that two other charges totaling nearly $2000 had already been approved.
Curiously, these two charges coded as coming from a branch of a major department store near my home. Past fraud has involved "card not present" online transactions. This instance was apparently an in-person transaction. I wonder if thieves are now faking physical cards, not just spoofing numbers online. |
That's what happened to me, a fraudulent charge in my city on chase ink mc about 10 days ago.
