Switching Cards
Hello - I've had a CSP since 2011. I'd like to get the sign up bonus on it again, but obviously I have the card currently. I don't have any other UR cards at the moment. I was thinking of doing the following:
1. Open Chase Freedom
2. Cancel CSP
3. (UR points will convert to 'cash back' when I have only the Freedom)
4. Wait a while
5. Open CSP - it will be closed for a while, and I haven't gotten the sign up bonus in ~4 years.
My question is, when I open the new CSP, will the Freedom points "convert back" to regular UR points? I'd obviously much prefer the points than cash back, so I want to make sure the points aren't stuck as cash back points when I have only the Freedom.
Thanks!

UR points are attached to specific cards. So step 1.5 will be to transfer points from CSP to Freedom, and step 6 is transfer them back from Freedom to CSP. Essentially all UR points are the same, it's the card that determines what you can do with them - but you can transfer points between cards at will.
