Lightbulb How to earn UR at Costco?

Just started my membership at Costco today...I am still new to Chase UR and want to know what ppl are doing to earn UR for shopping at Costco? Since Costco only accepts AMX, I guess one way is to purchase AMEX GC from one of the office supply stores at 5X and then use that to shop at Costco. However that will involve a fee of $6.95 for each GC (maybe $100 or $200 value depending upon availability). Is that the best way os any cheaper option available?

Thanks!

Buy Costco Cash cards online with your Chase card and pay no shipping fees. Or, use VR to load a Bluebird and use Bluebird at Costco to diversify your spending.

BB is your best bet. Costco accepts Amex, debit cards, cash, and checks.

Doesn't Costco also accept MasterCard? In that case, you could get a MasterCard Freedom (or CSP, Ink, et al) and earn UR points that way.

Costco.com accepts Visa, MC, and Discover in addition to AMEX, and you can purchase as much Costco Cash as you want provided you give a valid member number. This is also the loophole if you want to help a friend out to purchase things in Costco without actually being a member (although since I support Costco's labor policies, I have no issue with paying the nominal membership fee).

They're referring to Costco's website, Costco.com, which accepts all CC types when ordering from them; Costco store locations are still exclusively Amex CC or debit/check/cash.

Like calwatch stated, costco.com has always accepted other cards. Costco B&M still only accepts AMEX.

Edit: hah oceandreamer beat me to it!

Maybe you're thinking about Sam's Club? They only accept MC as far as CC goes.

Thanks. I knew that but didn't notice the distinction in the post.

Yes! We don't have Costco or Sam's Club in my area, just BJ's Wholesale Club (which gladly accepts any type of plastic).

Any way to order online, pay with a UR-earning Visa or MC card, and pick up in-store?

Find somewhere that sells Costco gift cards online. I can't think of any off the top of my head other than Costco.com.
