Chase Saphire Claw Back Points....
Can Chase Saphire claw back rewards points after I've already transferred them to one of its partner programs (such as Hyatt)?
The reason I ask is that I called Chase to see if I can be bumped up to the 70k bonus (I signed up for the 40k bonus an month ago, and just hit the $3k spend mark). The representative told me- and it seems a bit strange but I'll accept it for the time being- that I can get the new bonus by cancelling my current card and then re-applying.
Assuming this is true, my plan would be to wait until the 40k UR points hit my account, transfer them to a partner program, and then cancel and re-apply.

Were you targeted for the 70k Sapphire?
First if you weren't targeted then it would make no sense to apply again, you'll just get a different response via SM. Second, the chances of you getting another bonus after just receiving one are slim to none.

when my 60k IB bonus didn't post after spend req was met and statement was closed, i sent 3 SM online, one rep said, " I won't get any bonus points on my IB card cos i already received 50k bonus on SP" one rep said, the 60k is a targeted offer and I am not eligible for it. third one said, I am signed up for the 60k and it can take 1 to 2 statement billing circle for the 60k bonus points to be posted. My 60k IB points posted after the 2nd statement closed!
