Any reason to keep multiple Chase cards?

In the last year, I got the Chase OnePass, Mileage Plus and Sapphire Preferred, all for the miles and points.

I am with UA MP and do most spending on Sapphire Preferred (for dining and travel and zero forex).

So no reason to pay $95 to keep the OnePass (which should be the first one to cancel anyways, since OnePass is no more and it'll come up due first for renewal) or MP that I can see. I plan to make status on UA so priority boarding and no baggage fees shouldn't be an issue.

Anything I may be overlooking?

I'd definitely cancel the OP card, like you said. The status would make up for the benefits of the UA card, so if you're not planning to spend on it, there isn't much reason for it, either. Depending on your credit, etc, though, you might want to wait the 10-11 months, just to diminish the impact on your AAoA

Assuming you have the Explorer card, one possible reason to keep it would be for the primary insurance coverage on rental cars.

Would that apply to car rentals in other countries?

There are only a handful of countries that are excluded - Israel, Jamaica, Ireland, and Northern Ireland.

I suggest considering getting the Chase Ink card before cancelling another Chase card (for the bonus). Sometimes, they will only give you a new card if you reduce credit line on, or close, another card. The card you want to cancel is a good bargaining chip in that scenario.

Another method is to close the unwanted cards but transfer the credit line onto your sapphire preferred. I did this just a few weeks ago with my British Airways card.
