Problems with UR shopping mall

I've used the UR shopping mall almost exclusively for my drugstore.com and kohls purchases. Although I've always had a problem with points posting (it seems like anything >$100 is an auto no post), chase customer service has always provided the points.

Now, I have 3 in a row where the points have not posted and chase customer service has said no to give me the points. One of the purchases, a $300 kohls purchase, I even went all the way to a customer service manager on the phone, who confirmed that I followed the TOS and will credit the points, only to not have them post(even after I followed up). Is this just a temporary glitch or maybe I have a poor record with them since I follow up on every purchase?

Just curious to see if this has happened to anyone else and if I should use another mall to my purchases.

Below is the actual response from Chase, where they say if I use Windows 7, I'm not going to get the points.

Dear ****,

Thank you for contacting Chase in regard to the rewards on
your Sapphire Preferred account.

A review of your account reflects that your purchase at
Drugstors.Com has not registered successfully via the
ultimate rewards mall. Hence, it did not qualify for the
additional reward points.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you.
Please be advised that the following are the possibilities
that prevent you from earning the bonus points.

1. The purchases could have been made directly from the
merchant's website.

2. Please note that using Microsoft Windows 7 may not
receive bonus rewards for purchases made via the Ultimate
Rewards Mall website.

? Microsoft Windows 7 provides the ability to launch
multiple windows in Internet Explorer during the same
session.
? You may encounter this situation when shopping on highly
utilized websites.
? If you open the Shopping mall tab in the first window
and complete the ?checkout" process in a new window, then
the bonus points earned will not transfer from current
window to new window.
? You should use the same window/session while completing
the checkout process in order to receive the bonus points.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Thank you,

*****

Call in, if the rep won't help you, escalate to supervisor. My UR purchases NEVER track. I always have to call in, and unfortunately 1/2 of the reps are not well informed so they'll tell you stuff that isn't right. HUCA is your friend.

This isn't new. Many people have had issues with points posting. Chase always used to credit my points - I simply had to call or send a SM and the points would be posted no questions asked. However, for the last 6-8 months, they have become increasingly stingy with points posting and I was denied multiple times, with the same response: I accessed the rewards mall but didn't ultimately make the purchase via the rewards mall (which is ridiculous). And then an explanation of how to use the rewards mall correctly (despite a long history of using the mall) would follow. In general, when I make a rewards mall purchase, I do it via an incognito browser window. Points post most of the time for me when I do that. But when they don't, I never count on Chase doing the right thing these days.

I've seen Chase dropping the hammer on people and closing accounts. Am I risking anything by continuing to complain for my mall points? I got some odd 110k points trying to save up to 200k for a big trip.

I'm having the same issues currently. I purchased a few ink cartridges a few weeks ago totaling over $65 since 4inkjets was offering 15 points per dollar. They told me to wait the full 45 days but I highly doubt it will post by then. Every time I've purchased something through UR thus far, I've always been credited within 7 days.

I've had UR Mall points post as late as 30 days after the purchase; hopefully they arrive soon.

I've also had some points posted automatically about 30 days after the purchase, although most will post within 3-5 days. So sometimes it is indeed worth waiting the full 45 days.

I made a large purchase 2 weeks ago (to earn about 10k in UR points). So far nothing.

Fingers crossed. Not expecting much help from Chase, should I need it.

Anyone know the chances of getting bonus points from chase if it didnt post?
im missing 1200 points. :\

We've reviewed your account and here's what we found:

- Our records show that you didn't go directly to the
Staples website from Shop through Chase.

- That means your purchase wasn't recognized when you
shopped online with Shop through Chase and does not
qualify to earn bonus points.

We apologize for any inconvenience this caused for you and
want to offer some guidelines to make sure this issue
doesn't occur again.
Thank you for contacting Chase again about your Shop
through Chase bonus.

I apologize the previous response did not address your
inquiry in full. Our records show that on the account
ending in ****, you visited Staples directly from Shop
through Chase on November 02, 2015.

Here's what happens next.
are my chances on getting those 1200 pts high?

Chase UR Mall Bonus Points Not Showing

So I've read a few previous posts on this and have a basic understanding of how web browser cookies and procedures apply, but still have issues with some purchases not being recognized as going through the portal.

With this, I have two specific questions that I'm not sure were ever covered.

Assuming I correctly go through the Chase UR Mall portal:

1. Can I then sign into my account with that merchant and still have the portal understand to award me the bonus points off a purchase? Example, I have a Staples account. I go through the portal as normal, it automatically opens a new tab and then loads the Staple site. I then sign into my staples account, find an item from my favorites list (not previously loaded into the shopping cart), and then buy it.

Basically, does signing into the merchant account screw with the web browser cookies or go against some Chase policy?

2. Has anyone used their tablet or mobile device to access the Chase UR Mall? Does the whole technical process work the same way with the cookies? I have an iPad and would use Explorer. Suppose it's something I can just test on my own, but just putting it out there.

Just looking for a sure fire way to get my portal purchases recognized properly. Hate having to call into customer support and request manual adjustments. Makes me feel a little petty

Thanks!

Yes, logging into your account is a normal practice which should not impact tracking.

Using a mobile device is trickier and most websites and almost no apps have the conversion tracker needed to make the purchase register. So use a regular computer whenever possible and the full, non-mobile website

Is there a way to check the status of Shop Through Chase pending transactions if I used a non-Chase card to make the purchase?

If not, how will I know whether the purchase is being tracked?

No way to track whether you use a chase card or not, just look for it in your UR earnings page and if not you contact them. It has always been helpful for me to keep a spreadsheet with date, amount of miles, etc. They sometimes have asked me for browser info, etc to "troubleshoot." But if you don't use your chase card, they won't award it if it didn't go through automatically.
