If you click on apply, they give you a notice:

Thank you for your interest in becoming an
IHG® Rewards Club Select Credit Cardmember.
This offer is not available, but you are now being
redirected to another great IHG® Rewards Club
Credit Card offer!
You need to be targeted for the 80k/50 offer. I posted some screen shots above. I can get to the application page every time.

According to a rep (via phone call to Chase), Chip version of the card is now available. Not sure if this is new but didn't notice anything on a quick search. I requested a replacement card which they claim will be a chip version. I guess I will see in a few days.

Anyone else get a chip version yet?

Off Topic, but...

The consolidated Chase thread has been "closed" for nearly a week, with no reason given. Frankly, I haven't given up interest in Chase cards.

Does anyone know if a new thread has been started? Or some other on-going thread where the conversation has moved?

I'm going to try calling them about the 80k offer. I'm only getting 70k. Any particular reasons to be targeted for 80k?

Some people are, some people aren't. I got it, my wife did not. If you call let us know how it goes, but if you're not targeted for the deal you may be out of luck.

Yep. No luck.

Can you confirm if it takes the full 3 months before they credit your account with the 70k bonus points? Or if I spend the $1000 right away it would come on the first statement?

Provided your spend is made 7 to 10 days before statement closing date. Chase process the eligible spending in batches, which tend to cut off about 7 business days before statement closing date.

Please read the wiki, which answers this far-too-frequent question.

Sorry, wanted to double check as the Chase representative said you have to wait the full 3 months.

CC reps are often clueless about how things actually work. They read from a regular form letter.

Boiler plate answer per the T&C wordings on the offer. In practice it is much quicker.

They are not really clueless. They are NOT allowed to give answer that differs from what is said in the T&Cs.

In practice most of the time things happen a lot quicker than what T&Cs said but if not, the banks have these languages to fall back on. You would see this is virtually on ALL banks' T&Cs on sign up bonuses.

Would you expect anything else from grunts making $7.50 an hour?

Oh, come on, I have inside information that they actually make $7.59 an hour.

Plus tips...

What, you haven't been tipping? No wonder your Recon calls are so tough.

I had success getting the 80k offer matched but not the statement credit.

I don't have the platinum status, though. It appears to take quite some time before it updates your IHG account.

After being closed for a week, the "Applying for Chase Credit Cards [Consolidated]" is open again.
