Another "is it worth it" question - Easter Island

We'll be ending a cruise in Valparaiso in February, using an award ticket for SEA-EZE//SCL-SEA. Unfortunately Lan has no award seats to Easter Island available any time around that date, so the question is, "Is it worth it to spend $1100+ for a round-trip ticket from SCL to IPC for a 2 or 3 day visit?"

I would normally expect to include IPC in one of our semi-annual RTW excursions, but don't plan to return to S. America on an RTW in the near future.

For those of you who've been, would you do it if you were me? Granted it's expensive ($1100 in Y, $1400 in J) but it's one of the most remote (and I hope interesting?) places on the planet, so as a one-time deal I'd look past the airfare issue.

Input welcome and TIA.
