Question LAX ---> PTY

What should I consider a "good" fare? I need to fly on United Airlines in Sept this year.
I missed a $517 fare and now it's up to $655. Is that still good?
Any advice is welcomed. Thank you.

My husband & I have $400 in travel certificates each, so I wanted to use them for our trip to Panama. I'm wondering if I should wait for a better fare or just go ahead and buy these.

Conventional wisdom says fares are generally higher over six months out and will find a lower spot closer to departure, before the cheaper seats get takne up and the fares climb again.

I recommend asking in the United Forum, as the members there would be more familiar with UA's pricing and Revenue Management.

If you wish this thread be moved to that Forum, use the "Alert a moderator" button to the left and ask moderators to move your thread there.
