Bugs in hotel in San Juan del Sur

I am thinking of heading down to Nica for Thanksgiving or Christmas. SJDS looks great and I think we'd like to go there. However, in my research there seem to be 2 types of properties: 1) properties right near the beach, with no/AC and mosquito netting and 2) properties far from the beach, with A/C. Is there any place close to the beach with A/C?

The reason I ask is not so much the heat but the bugs. Mrs. Meineke & Tim Jr will put up with a lot, but not the site of a bunch of bugs skittering into the corner when you turn on the lights in the room at night. Do the eco lodges have that issue? Or is it just mosquitoes, and does the netting keep them out? Bugs during the day are fine, we'd just like to avoid them in our room at night
