"Socially correct" is utterly culture specific.

Late last year I was in a window seat in Y. A woman behind me put her foot between my seat and the window. It crept up to my foot rest-that's when I told her to remove it. She didn't like that. As far as feet on seat backs, it better not come in to my space, but if it stays in the passenger's space, not much to say about that.

More generally, in some parts of the world one should never sit or otherwise position oneself so that the soles of one's feet are visible or pointing toward another person, regardless of whether the feet are bare or not. People who aren't necessarily religious find it offensive.

How can you tell it's the same person from just the foot?

BTW, I suspect that in this photo, it's "she" who gets around as the other (presumably matching) foot that's down on the carryon bag on the floor has pink nail polish.

Those countries excel in many areas where "first world" falters. Those who live in glass houses.......& all that.

Should I have stolen her shoes?

From a PP lounge in SEA.

Clearly it's not as egregious as the earlier pictures, but still. I really wanted to steal her shoes.

You should have! Or at least kick it far away, under some cabinets so she spends a good half hour scouring the lounge or walk barefoot to her connecting flight.

I’m certain it’s not the same person, it was an attempt at humour, clearly a fail with you

I don't think it's as disgusting as people who cough/sneeze without covering their nose or mouth.
