Although i's a good thing to be "complaining" about Lynch Bages I suppose. But 08 is just way too young, and definitely not the vintage 05 was.

I might check with my dealer try a taste.
Had Lynch Bages 06 long time ago, don't feel any difference with 08, maybe I am not expert at all.
But, compare F&B with JL, CX is one or two steps below for sure. All my rice was super hard, the lobster was not as fresh as before (Lucky me had lobster this time, last three times was Chicken, Cod, and Cod).
The only thing nice is the bed.
What a shame, there are so many good restaurants in HKG, why CX can't find a better supplier like JL.
Also, the biggest shame to CX is the Amenity kit!! That's a big joke!! Especially the male version. A big empty box.
To sum up, CX: good for bed, PJ, and that's all.

To be fair, CX has one of the best lounges, the first class lounge The Pier and The Wing is unbeatable.
I wish CX could bring the lounge quality food to inflight. Cathay Delight always good to have on the ground.

I've had a small citrus lobster salad thingy served with the PDB while the doors are still open. I liked it.

Anyway, I was trying to compare with JL lounge in TYO.
For someone based in NA, CX HKG lounges are really standing out.

I find the JL F lounges at NRT so-so, not so great, both as lounges and with respect to food. I've heard that they're better at HND.
Completely agree. People who are accustomed to J and F lounges in Asia don't know how good they have it!
Agree. Same onboard, at least in F.

Seriously! Some lounges in the USA don't even have washrooms, let alone showers, where you'd have to use the lavatory outside in the terminal. Hot food isn't common either, let alone a sit down restaurant with a variety of dishes, where if one were inclined, can order and sample each of them.
