Redress is not KTN. CX website is not taking KTN during booking process or on existing reservations when I last checked on 25 OCT. I'm hoping this is something they take during online check-in or airport check-in. Will report back in two weeks assuming no one beats me to it first.
I am well aware Redress in NOT KTN. However, a lot of people still are not familiar with entering KTN.
A few airline websites - including non-U.S. versions of AA.com - have Redress where they should have KTN and no amount of communicating this error seems to be changing things.
LH is one of a few airlines that has done it correctly from the start.
There is a post on the ANA FT thread saying that they are up and running with KTN working.
Also, it makes things significantly better when one is a member of the airline program one is flying and the FFP profile contains the KTN which should auto-populate a booking if signed in. For partner award tickets, people will have to add it via Manage Bookings.
Thanks.

You can not use Flagship First Check-in as it is technically not possible and AA no longer allows it even in the particular scenarios where it was technically possible (connecting from AA to CX on same ticket)
There is F/J security lane in T8 in addition to PreCheck and general security screening.

Speculation is maybe AA escort can get someone around PreCheck but really no evidence reported that is the case. I would default to the previous sentence.

What I’m wondering is whether a CX-Pre with proper AA credentials would be permitted to use the Flagship chute for a quicker experience. My guess is yes, as the agents at JFK seem to know most of the Keys at this point.
Not that it really matters.

AA will escort non-Pre around, if they are Flagship eligible in the first place.

Sorry for any confusion.
EDIT - you might have to be a Key. “Flagship eligible” could be overstating.

AA might check your luggage through if you ask nicely, acknowledge that you know they are under no obligation to check them through, but if it's possible would they be able to? They may still just say no, but they might do it!
If that doesn't work, you'll have two options using Pre-Check with CX at LAX if the security line is maddeningly long (it will be):
1. Walk back to Terminal 4, which is right there next to TBIT, and use the AA Pre-Check lane and then just walk through the connector back to TBIT. The connector will drop you off right by the OW lounges, so it's pretty convenient. Although this seems like it might be inefficient with all the walking back abd forth between terminals.
2. Use the small, no-line, TRANSFER/CONNECTING FLIGHTS TSA Checkpoint on the Arrivals Level of TBIT. Get your boarding pass, go downstairs to the Arrivals/baggage claim area. Walk toward the south side of the building (left of you as you walk into the terminal from outside), find the "Connecting Flights" sign, and the check point will be there. And if you have Pre-Check, they note it and you proceed through the checkpoint like any other Pre-check checkpoint.
That second one might be dependent on staffing/time of day, but it should be open.

Well, when ORD gets downgraded to A350
Not to get OT here, but it looks like this can only help 2.5 out of 6 US outports? (no PRE for BOS, ORD, and LAX would need a detour too? Does EWR have it?) Wonder if CX could fight for PRE to open up at the outports without PRE now?

I like how you edited your post with 'Forgot EWR', everyone forgets EWR . AFAIK, Terminal B at EWR does have PreCheck, but PreCheck is closed at the time of CX899 departure, usually around 1AM.
I fly CX899 often. At that time, the entire terminal is empty. Even though it's the regular security screening, it's almost always empty. Sure, I would appreciate PreCheck, but if it's not available then not an issue for now.

Everyone forgets about EWR because there is no F service similar to how YYZ is rarely discussed especially on the CX award thread using AA miles.

AFAIK, EWR load has been good recently and is moving to 35G this weekend. As for TSA Pre, due to timing of 899, there is barely any line at all.
