Then new livery does look very clean and I like the lines on that new A350.

Clean look? Why not all white. Can't believe companies actually pay so-called design firms for such 'creative' rubbish. Hasn't anyone noticed that the write-ups on the new design are so long winded, the old 'keep talking and you'll convince yourself' thing. I mean CX devoted a book about the new design you'd think they re-invented aviation! What nonsense. The current design is just fine. At least JAL went back to the unique and elegant crane design. And recall the BA design fiasco and flop years ago? Brand logos are becoming less meaningful and more the same - boring. In a world where yesterday is considered ancient and something new is wanted, the question is it really anything better. No is the answer, for me at least. The new design saves the company some money perhaps, e.g. going to just three colours instead of 4 - getting rid of the red. Next step: why not just paint 'CX' on the plane!

B-LAJ is now in new livery after returning from XMN on Friday. First for the A330 fleet?

I have to admit the new CX livery looks surprisingly neat on the A330.

By the way somebody photoshopped a CX 747 passenger in the new livery. Again not all that bad.

Yes, first for the A330. Surprisingly, it looks much nicer on the A330 than anything else to be honest!

That's not how it will look on a passenger 744. The stripe would be right at the top of the windows with the titles right over the stripe. I don't think its going to look good! And the brushwing will be right next to the door with the windows in the way!

out of curiosity, are any other 777s re-painted yet? Or just B-KPM at the moment?

I was sitting in the Wing a few days ago, waiting to catch a midnight long-haul departure. I looked over at Gate 21 and noticed a new-livery 777 (I think?). Since I was departing from Gate 4, and a newly-painted bird was parked at Gate 21, I made a mental note "guess I'm not flying B-KPM today".

But then, to my surprise, when I boarded 30 minutes later B-KPM was indeed parked at Gate 4, which was my ride. It's possible the other one towed around while my head was in my computer, but I could swear the other plane stayed at Gate 21 and didn't move. Was I seeing things? Or is another one (or two) B777 repainted now?

Looks like someone missed a bit...

It also seems like some more may have been painted. There were 5 passenger aircraft in HKG this morning wearing the new livery. It would be some coincidence to have all of them on the ground together.

Reminds me of the era circling 1996 where numerous CX planes still wore a nose in the old livery despite the rest of the aircraft being in the new livery already.

I guess that those nose caps are rotated fairly regularly.

They are damaged fairly frequently (birds, and the radome isn't metal, because it needs to be transparent to radar) and the spare ones lying around aren't always the right colour... Sometimes see CX/KA nose cone/ radome swaps as well
