Bankcomm $1 mags from Relay to 30 Sep

Similar to DBS Page One Two Three Four $15 free mag
But:
- $1 payment needed
- either no boarding pass check or boarding pass check but today's departure or arrivals boarding pass OK
- one person can only enjoy the benefit once even though T&C says per card - so possible to use different card in different branches and not get charged

Relays I can think of (or have seen on the trips I've just returned from):

Unrestricted area:
- Arrivals between hall A and hall B exit
- T1 7/F (departures level) near check-in island C
- T2 3/F (lowest level, same floor as CX/Plaza Premium Arrivals Lounges)
- T2 5/F (departures level) near check-in island N

Restricted area:
- Between Gate 15 and 20
- Gate 40
- Gate 15
- Gate 64
- North Satellite Concourse (Gates 52x)
- Inside T2 restricted area (before the people mover I suppose)

(full list http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/s...ooks/rela.html )

Just checked my BankComm acct and the 240k bonus points have been credited into my account about 2 weeks after I registered for the 3 phases promo under Target #3. Nice

percysmith should have already earned an easy 1.2m pts from this promo from his 5 cards

Sorry this was as early as 8 June http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...p?id=10379&p=9 #87. June was a very busy month so forgot to repost here, apologies.

I did remember to repost the $50 extra sweetener to the offer though.

Can someone translate the gist of the article?

I painfully studied Chinese for 12 years but those characters are about as decipherable as hieroglyphs to me.

Next Media published the article in webpage format for free today http://hk.next.nextmedia.com/article/1217/16979867

Since it is webpage format I can use Google Translate on it http://translate.google.com/translat...217%2F16979867 , even though the translation does come out very weird.

Times Square/NTP need registration

Local spending other than above: 10 extra $RC/$500 transaction
Caps:40 extra RC/week (Note)

Mannings Fri/Sat/Sun: 30 extra RC in addition to above (total 60 extra RC)
Caps: 300/month

Note: this is from the Chinese version. In the English version it says "any", but no such phrase appears in Chinese version. Although English prevails, I won't like to challenge any Local Bank on something it clearly expresses in Chinese but mucks up on the English.

There's also 10RC/week on mobile payments, but that involves putting on the stupid HSBC Paywave sleeve so I have to apply for it.
thx Percysmith! I am assuming that purchases at mannings can also include coupons like last time right? Thanks!

yes you can buy coupon.

but my mistake was bot them on Jul 1... it was holiday but it was Monday

also remember there's weekly cap on Manning earning, so don't buy all coupon in 1 go.

Additional offer - slightly OT because you can only get extra cash rebate and not extra RC (for Asia Miles):

http://www.hsbc.com.hk/1/2/special/cards/prom218

"Online Bonus Offer

From now til 15 August 20213, search for the "Online Bonus Offer" banner on major websites and have a chance to win up to 90% Spending Rebate or merchant coupons. Over 50,000 offers are available. Offer while stocks last. Don't miss the chace. Search Now!"

This is the equivalent of the 10%/20%/50% cash rebate/Easter Egg lucky draw in TS/NTP last year.

Except Broadway and Mannings are now included, and you need to go online to locate those banners. For example, last night I found my banner at http://hk.apple.nextmedia.com/news/a...30709/18328306

New terms 33-51 added to T&C. Does not affect purchases from last weekend or the RC-earning part of the offer.

But as of this morning we cannot locate the banners.

Hongkongcard.com coverage: http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...?id=10752&p=16 #154. Hongkongcard.comers have queried HSBC who stated there is no cap to the Online Bonus Offer of the promo. So we "crazy click" til we can't keep our eyes open (I did).

1. 20,000 miles welcome offer for Premiermiles VISA card:
spending target: 20,000 HKD in 2 months.
This offer is only available at three designated branches: Mongkok, Causeway Bay and Central. Other branches only have the regular welcome offer of 8,000 miles for 10,000 HKD in 2 months.

2. 15,000 miles welcome offer for Citibanking Payroll account:
Have your company transfer a salary higher than 30k or set up a standing instruction of 30k+ each month into that account for at least 6 months (at least that is what the citi Sales told me, other sources like their website say only 3 months or 4 months, but better be safe than sorry).

Hi Svellmann,

I walked into the Central branch on Wheelock House Branch and they only had the 8,000 welcome bonus.

Can you provide the exact location of the three designated branches: Mongkok, Causeway Bay and Central that provide the 20K welcome promotion offer, please.

thanks in advance.

Also, any thoughts on the citibank prestige card?

I called up ShaComm hotline to change my address to my Singapore office address before I left HKG a couple of weeks ago. At that time, I asked the guy whether I can cancel the card (and my wife's supplementary card) over the phone (without going to any branch) but he said "no".

On the contrary, DBS and Standard Chartered allow cancellation of cards over the phone and I happily did just that (my SCB Plat Visa and DBS Plat Master Cards) on the same day I called up ShaComm.

Today, I received a letter from ShaComm (sent to my Singapore office address) saying that they will cancel my card as they cannot allow anyone without a valid HKG residential address or those that does not work in HKG to hold their card. Good for me as it saves me the trouble of going to one of their branch (which I intend to do when I stop by HKG in late Aug)

So, with the cancellation of those cards, I am left with:
1. SCB AE - which I am actively using in Singapore before having access to any CC here (having just transferred 99k miles last Saturday and already have 10k miles in the account already since the transfer due to the big amount purchases I constantly rake in).

2. Citibank PM Visa - those retail outlets that do not accept AE, plus transactions in Indonesia considering I fly there quite often now. There's also still some 12k miles in that account that I have yet to transfer.

3. BankComm CUP - just keeping it for promos (like the 240k pts promo). I will charge some overseas transactions to this card so that I can transfer 60k miles to my AM account by end of Aug when I return to HKG for a short visit.

4. HSBC Plat Visa - in case I need to shop at Times Square (at the end of Aug and Dec).

5. DBS Black - my HP bill is still tied to this card (through Autopay) until early September (they will charge
a hefty cancellation fee, which will be above what I will pay over the remaining 2 months of my contract). Once that one is cancelled, I will possibly cancel this card as well. Anyway, I also still have some points in that account that I need to transfer.
