Connecting in CMB
A bit OT, but I am flying Sri Lankan from Male to Colombo on a separate ticket and then transferring to a CX flight to BKK. Will I be able to check my baggage all the way and receive both boarding passes in Male?

It's possible, but I wouldn't bet on it. One word of caution, you cannot get into the terminal at all until 3 to 2 hours before your flight. Guards will check your ticket beforehand.

You may be able to thru check your bags to BKK if you show your connecting flight in MLE. But you will not be able to get your CX boarding pass till you are in CMB.
You will stay in the terminal. You do not pass thru immigration.
You might be able to check in for your CX flight at the transfer desk earlier. But then again, I can't advise as I've never had a transfer longer than 3 hours.

Sorry damaxer91 I was referring to the Male component. I am assuming you may be coming either from an island or the Huahale Airport Hotel? If you are, it's no use rocking up to the terminal early to check in or to enquire as to whether you can check your baggage through (which, should be possible, but in an outpost like Male, you never quite know if they will or not) as you wont be able to get in until I think 3 hours before your flight departs. This can be a problem if you are arriving in Male via seaplane, you may have hours to kill.
