The only reason I can think of this is because was that the booking wasn't refreshed. That means when you bought it, it recorded you as CXGr but since one if you don't show your card at the counter, or two you never made changes to it after your status changed. I only heard this problem exist on AA though but it's possible. Next time, just ask MPC to refresh it.

Cold shoulder? Don't worry about that. They do that to me once a while anyway.

You were probably GR when you booked your ticket. When you check-in, if you see the wrong status is printed, you can ask the check-in agent to print out a BP with the correct status (and make sure that it is done before the checked luggage was taken in - I had that with KA once, and my luggage ended up being almost the last one out).

i had the similar problems, perviously it appears Fine on KA system, but it becomes GR on CX return flight.... they told me is some technical faults between the KA/CX systems, but is fine just remember to bring your card and can show them to fix it.

The thing is I actually did show my card during checked in and assumed that it should be alright until I took a second look on the board pass well into the air...

I've had the wrong status appear when flying CX, but it was for the better. I dropped from AA Gold/OW Ruby to no status on March 1, 2009, but all of my boarding passes on CX and KA through June 1 said AA/RUBY. I rightfully qualifyed for AA/RUBY after June 1 so I don't know how much longer I could have went with the wrong status.
