Migrating from WorldPerks to MPC

Hi MPC/AsiaMiles experts,

Thinking of moving over to MPC. Currently WP Gold Elite and fly 2 trans-Pacific round trips a year, plus one usually to Europe. I am based in SFO.

1. Would a status match land me an MPC level above Green?
2. Since I'm US-based, are there US credit cards that rake in AsiaMiles directly? I am thinking of getting AAdvantage VISA but I'm not sure if those can be convereted to AsiaMiles, and if it would cost me. So maybe I can get a better credit card for AsiaMiles.
3. How have op-ups been for MPC elites? I should say this is one of the things I enjoyed with NorthWest; I would often get moved up front for B-class fares on trans-Pacific flights.
4. I am thinking of changing my username

Thanks!

I thought about doing it but decided not to. There is no credit card in the USA that give you AsiaMiles (there's a Canadian card that does, but you have to be a Canadian to apply.) AA miles to AsiaMiles conversion is possible, but a ripped off.

If you do everything in the USA on credit card (which I do), then stick with AA - for 60,000 miles you get a free USA-HKG ticket, 110,000 miles you get Business class ticket. As MPO you need 90,000 miles for USA-HKG ticket, 170,000 for free Business class ticket.

Just a clarification (AM/MPO), if flying from the West Coast its 60,000 miles for economy and 120,000 miles for Business.
