Query on fare rules

All,

I am looking at buying a business class ticket ex-TPE and the rules state that "ALL CHANGES MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO THE DEPARTURE DATE OF THE TICKETED FLIGHT" (changes are free on the ticket).

Does that mean that changes can be made for each leg of the journey at any stage before they are flown, or does it mean that changes can only be made before the time of the FIRST leg. I hope it is the former but thought it best to be prudent and check with the experts on here.

I would call Cathay but am in Asia and they are closed! Thanks in advance.

Yes it is the former. Super discounted biz class tickets from TPE are really great in that unlimited free changes are allowed. ^ As a comparison, there is a rebooking fee of GBP 200 per change for I class tix ex-LHR.
