This sounds extremely attractive... Where can I book these fares? Also, are fuel surcharges included in these fares?

The 12,000 surcharge for USA looks quite high/unfair, as YYZ is even further, as there isn't a surcharge.

Too bad that they impose a HK$12,000 surcharge on the Business fares to the US. Also, passengers should be aware that this Economy promotional fare is NOT available for mileage accrual as the booking class is in "S".

I wish they could have similar promotion ex-US.

Oooh - the old SARS special! The economy seems much better value than the business to me (albeit no miles and not upgradable for miles). For business class it might works if it fits your plan, but business to Europe at an implied price of about $28,000 isn't particularly cheap, particularly with $1000 rebooking fee.

This is indeed a great deal.

If I read this right, you can fly roundtrip from HKG to the US, + 1 'short-haul' segment, for only ~ $788 USD?

Er, HK$7880+HK$1000 is about US$1140. Plus taxes and surcharges which would be at least another $2500. Your total price would be over US$1400.

Does anyone know if the Japanese destinations are included in this promotion? From the website, it doesn't seem to list the Japanese destinations as one of the "34 short haul destinations".

I have the same question ... Apple Daily mentioned that JP is covered but on CX site it did not have a single Japan City at all....

It is the biggest pull off from me not placing the order ... I would love to fly TYO / SPK + YYZ with such a steal!

The fare sheet clearly lists the Japanese cities as shown in the original post. I think this is just an error on the website.

I just saw some communications from CX to their corp customers forwarded to me by a friend...and it says "41 short haul destinations" there and Japan is on the list...

I think in 2004 - that dubai was in the short haul and yet now its in long haul; this is a little more annoying as most flgiths to dubai (and perth etc) are classed as short haul when you ask them why they have regional seats!!!

also as someone notes - you can get bus to london for 26k now so is it a great deal??

plus no miles in economy

No mileage to most FFPs.

However, you can still earn 50% mileage on CX 'S' class fares on AY's FFP.
