Hi

I'm looking at flights to Vancouver in business next Jan 29th (so CNY). Last year I went with Oasis but this year my choices are back to AC and CX. AC seem to be offering an amazing special on their new Executive class suites with a round trip fare of 21k. CX comes in at nearly double that. While the miles would be nice when 2 of us can travel for the price of one they just can't be justified.

Any FTers got any views on the AC product in comparison to CX or whether the CX price might come down in the near future.

I flew AC on a re-done 763. Seat isn't too shabby and rather comfortable.

I guess all the CX I fares (same as the AC fare) are gone now that O8 is (kind of surprised the fares stuck around for so long - thought they'd have disappeared as soon as O8 folded). Not even the D fares for slightly more?

I've done the new AC seat before and will be doing it again next week. Overall it is good seat and I find them more comfortable, better looking, and less claustrophobic than new CX J seat. So if all you care about is to rest on the seat then go with AC considering the price you are getting compared to what CX is charging. AC will be using the 77W on HKG-YVR which has the new seat.
