Ka/cx Vip?

I recently took a KA flilght and saw on some other passenger's Boarding Pass KA VIP on the bottom right, where others would have CXGR or whatever to denote status with MP/Asia Miles.

Does anyone know what status this KA VIP is? How is it attained and whether this is the same as Diamond?

Thank you.

Interesting that HKSAR officials are in Cat 1 and other heads of states in Cat 3.

If it came to a showdown, would CX upgrade an HKSAR civil cervant (Cat 1) or the president of, say, Canada (Cat 3)?

I don't think the heads of state of countries likes Canada or the US are flying around on KA...

I'd say the HKSAR civil servant would rank higher than the president of Canada

I don't think the categories distinguish the ranks. I suppose HK officials fly on CX/KA quite a bit and are placed in one category. Those from other regions/countries are just occasional (and probably never for head of states).

ha ha, ok point taken.

totally forgot, Canada isn't a republic yet, and their head of state is the Queen.

FWIW, i know the president of swiss did take CX from manila to HK then LX back to ZRH. His wife n himself did not block the entire LX F.

Well... I dont think he did but maybe the entire cabin was his men- but it didnt seem so to me when looking at the manifest.

So, it DOES happen head of states take commercial flights on trips. considering how much of a controvesy it can bring up when they use state money to buy unnecessary seats.

For high officials, HK government provides G4 protection and there are special passages.

For others, I would guess they are treated like DMs.
