BA to join Star Alliance
This is subject to verification. BA will leave OneWorld for Star Alliance soon. Asia Miles members will soon not be able to earn on BA in coming months. Will post more details as they become available.

This article seems to indicate otherwise
It seems that Continental is the one that is courted:
"BA and its key partner, American Airlines (AMR), want Continental to join their Oneworld global alliance. Similarly, United (UAUA) and its strategic partner, Germany's Lufthansa, are courting Continental as a potential member of their Star global alliance."

_________
Mr McCulloch said that Oneworld was keen to add British Airways' new OpenSkies subsidiary, which launches its first flight this month between Paris Orly and New York JFK.
Oneworld airlines serve 700 airports in 150 countries, operating almost 2,500 aircraft and employing 250,000 people. Later this year it will become the first in the industry to sell multi-airline round-the-world trips online.

I don't believe it. One reason is the relationship that both QF and BA have on the Sydney-London route. QF act as BA's ground agents as well as operating a cosy code share arrangement.

Having said that I still doubt that BA will leave OW.

I had a friend at QF the other day complain that BA send their pax with ticket problems to QF offices as they are their ground agent in Australia.
