Cool OLCI problem

Having a problem with OLCI. Got the regular email yesterday for tomorrow's flight, when to check-in and received the following error:

System Error
We are unable to process your request for Check-In. Our records indicate a problem with the sequence of flights you are checking in. Please check in for your flights in the same sequence as your itinerary or proceed to the airport for Check-In. (CKI-0356)
Spoke to MPO and they have no idea, but they confirmed the flights / booking / e-tickets are all in good order.

I am checking in with my family (7 in all). Also tried to check-in for just mysellf (deselected all the other passengers), got the same System Error.

Anyone have any thoughts, or a similar experience?

I had this problem before when I was on e-ticket and it involves other airlines...e.g. MAD-LHR-HKG, I cannot OLCI LHR-HKG in advance because I haven't checked in my MAD-LHR flight / used the MAD-LHR coupon yet - so basically it means I cannot really check in for the CX flight in advance because I would have to check in for the MAD-LHR in person at the airport first, and at that time I could receive my onward LHR-HKG boarding pass anyway. same for e.g. BOS-JFK-HKG or sth like that...as long as it's e-ticket and the previous non-CX coupon isn't used yet, you cannot check in for the next CX flight. such problem doesn't exist with paper ticket obviously.

but it doesn't sound like this is what happened in your case ?

I had that same problem about two weeks ago. I flew HKG-PEK. Then return PEK-HKG two days later. When I did OLCI in PEK, the system kept giving me that message that I was not checking in the correct sequence. It showed the flight I already took as ready to be checked-in. I finally checked in at the airport.

I flew HKG-LONDON-BARCELONA on one E-ticket and on the return leg, although I hadnt left barcelon and was stopping in london for one day, i could still check in my CX flight. (this was mid-march travelling). So I presume the above only applies to when u are flying DIRECT and not stopping in the place where u are starting the CX flight ?

The situation OP encountered was:
"System Error
We are unable to process your request for Check-In. Our records indicate a problem with the sequence of flights you are checking in. Please check in for your flights in the same sequence as your itinerary or proceed to the airport for Check-In. (CKI-0356) "

It has to do with the sequence of check-in. When I had that before, it was not aircraft change. The system thought that I had not taken a flight I had already flown.

Had the same problem SIN-HKG this week, thought it was my problem until reading this board...must be something with the CX system given we've all had the issue.
