Caucasian crew

Has anyone seen Caucasian crew with CX recently? Seems that there are only Asian crew with CX now. As an international airlines, shouldn't there be at least one Caucasian crew on N.America/Europe route?

Do you mean cabin crew or flight crew? Flight crew are generally caucasian but there are some more local pilots coming through the ranks now. Cabin crew are almost always asian, but there are a few caucasian cabin crew around.

A few months back on my HKG-TPE flight, I did see one Caucasian cabin crew in J. She is quite tall with dark hair.

Why should CX crew their planes based on race?

Language qualifications and performance are all that need to be considered. They're a Hong Kong based airline and the cabin crew are very 'international' when compared to other carriers.

There are caucasian cabin crew. Requirement is to speak english plus a fluent asian language (normally one out of japanese/ mandarin/ cantonese/ korean) and as studying mandarin/ japanese is now fairly common, there are some. Mostly based in Vancouver or London

I wish that there were more Caucasian crew members, so I wouldn't have to suddenly "forget" my Mandarin when being spoken to.

(This problem is even more prevalent intra Asia, the cantonese speaking ladies appear surly, especially in Y, as soon as Mandarin is spoken)

I was on CX 520 to NRT and saw a male Caucasian cabin member on this flight. Quite tall with dark hair. I was impressed at how good his Canto was. WOW!

Nice.

I hope the pilot took it down to about 8,000 ft and threw his *ss out into the ocean - or onto some rocks... :-)

All of our cabin crew are Asian. As long as they speak English regardless of route.

On one of my London sectors, I had a regular FA and ISM who were half Caucasian, half Asian. The FA was half English, half Filipino while the ISM was half English, half Chinese.

So we do have Caucasian crew but they have some part Asian in them.

As far as flight crew, its multiracial. I know crew not just from the usual countries like Australia, UK, Canada, etc but we have some from Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe!
