Tier renewal
my membership was due 31/12/2007, and they promised to retain my SL Status if my mileage reached 25500, which i did, but they downgraded me to GR already. Called MPO hotline they said they hv sent the request to CX as this is a special case, and i m about to fly again next week. what should i do, bros?

I cannot understand what they mean by "they hv sent the request to CX"???
From my understanding, all membership issues are done within Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programme Ltd, which means Asiamiles/ The Club. Why do they need to send this issue to other CX department/ subsidiary?
Actually few years ago, I got same kind of offer, saying I can retain at SL once collected 25000 miles. And they did.

I recalled I saw threads on how that was being done:
1. The member kept status when there were confirmed flights immediately after membership year.
2. The member was downgraded but the status was reinstated after the member took a flight within 60 days of renewal.
3. Another member had far more than enough for requal the year before, and MPC took exception to allow the previous "overflown" miles to be counted towards requal.
#1 and #2 seem to be contradictory.

oh! i asked the phone operator abt that issue 'can they instantly renew my status by any of their supervisors or need to be done by CX?' and been told need to send a request to CX or wat-so-ever, so i dunno whats going on...
my requirement was, 25000 (but was told by operator that is 25500), but anyway, i got more than those numbers by 31/12/2007, which my very last flight was on 31/12/2007 and they reset my mileage to 0 on 1/1/2008 mid-night. However my last sector flew on 31/12/2007 was not credit until 2/1/2008. So they now downgraded me to GR and got 1 sector in that 'after reset' account. Got wat i mean, bros?

1. Do you mean you should have 25,500 after your flight on 31 Dec? Or;
2. Do you mean you already had 25,500 before your 31 Dec flight, and that flight will put you above 30,000?
Case #1: If you have a confirmed or ticketed flight in early 2008, MPC may allow you to stay SL, or to revert back to SL after the flight. If not, I doubt whether they will do that as you are too far away from the 30,000 renewal.
Case #2: MPC should be able to revert your status, although officially not so.

Also make a note that after they 'upgrade' your status, it takes 24h before information is relayed to CX reservation (or OW) system.
I flew into HK on 31st Dec at 5am and made it to Gold. With 'special arrangements' like yours, they upgraded my tier to Gold. Surprise surprise, in the same evening when I flew out from HKG, I was still SL, saying CX reservation couldn't recognize my Gold Status. Well apparently it takes a while for information to get passed.
So you better act pretty quick few days before your flight.

2. Tier upgrade shows up after the transaction. I forgot how long, but within a day or two.
3. If you are located outside HK, the new card/luggage tags will arrive in about two weeks, except for Diamond, which will arrive in two days via DHL.
4. All your bookings prior to the upgrade show up as the previous tier, but you can call MPC to change that, or to change the tier level on record at check-in. (If you don't, even if you have the upgraded card, the previous status will still be printed on your BP.)

i got my problem solved, brothers! Hurray!
my last activity date was 31/12/2007
credit date was 2/1/2008
and i needed that very last activity mileage to get my SL retained...
anyway, the phone operator told me such 'special case' need to be approved by Marketing team first then they PCCW side can retain/upgrade my tier...
