Whats Wrong with the NRBC
Took a HKG-SIN flight during the weekend and it was a 330 with the NRBC. This is the 2nd time I taken it and I really don't understand what all the fuss it about?
I actually find the seat really comfortable for a 2-3 hours journey and managed to sleep well. Sure you loose out on underseat storage, but I find the eletronic mechanisms are more reliable than the old seats which I have used quite a lot incl 889 for over 20 hours in them (although on the 744 there was more pitch but the leg rest is still quite low).
Again service wise I find it pretty good and compare to what AA/QF/BA is offering in the same flight distance (3 hours) CX win hands down:
1) propoer full cloth towels
2) full entree, main, cheese, dessert with mroe choices
3) Drink selections same as long haul
4) Menu cards
5) drinks refilled at least 4 times during meals
I think apart from TPE/MNL and maybe BKK ALL CX destinations offer the above setup.
I find the NRBC win hands down compare to the CE seats, the Domestic F Class AA seats and the Millenlium seats on QF.

The food offered on HKG-SIN should be better than other regional routes,is it because of competiting with SQ? ex-BKK J/Y food was really horrible.
I personally love ORBC more because the support of the back is much better and thicker than NRBC. Moreover,NRBC doesn't offer a good place for welcome drinks and mugs (I hate this the most).

I find the support for the NRBC to be jsut as good and the lumbar is better as it is eletronic compare to the push button.
Also the leg rest is more stable now
There is a slide out cocktail table in the NRBC. Overall I find it to be a perfectly ok product and competes well with the offerings of all the competitors regionally.
I think the only thing I didn't like is the size of the pillow, just too small.
