The Wing - F section

Last time I was here I only got to use the Business class section...

I'm flying in F on BA back to London and was curious to know if the Wing's First Class section was much different? Any advice of what I should do? Sample anything in particular off the restaurant's menu?

It's just overall nicer. Slightly better everything (service, food, etc..). There is a sit down restaurant with a la carte (and from what I've noticed, nearly an 'anything you want' menu), rather than a grab and sit. I actually think the most fun thing to do in the Wing is take a shower. They are a waterfall style and absolutely amazing. Also, if you like spicy food, the spicy noodles in the restaurant are really good.

Enjoy. I still think its the best lounge in the world (not having been to Lufthansa's first class terminal...yet)

* Less crowded.
* There is also "The Cabanas". I never use it though.
* In regards to the restaurant, the food is excellent. If you like anything from the J lounge, just let the waiter/waitress know.
* Even if you are outside the restaurant, an attendent normally comes by and serve you.
* "The Library" where you can relax and feel quiet.
* The bathroom is also nicer.

Anyway, the F lounge is simply like an upgraded J lounge.

My friend, you need some sort of self-control. Any overdose is not good, especially when you are about to hop on a plane.

Nah, it takes 48 hours of overeating (I read somewhere) before the extra calories turn into fat. Short-term fits of indulgence are fine, as far as I'm concerned. (Yes, 'tis the guilt that speaketh. ) Well done, tom911. ^

Can you actually ask for a menu? I've heard of the "special" menu where you can ask for anything you want, but never really worked out what there is to ask for....

I got to check out both the Wing and the Pier last week as an F pax and they were fine -- but no higher than #3 on the list of lounges I've been to, with the LH FCT at FRA still number one by a mile, and BA's LHR Concorde Room #2 by a bit.

I was in the same boat. At both the W&P dining rooms I was never given a menu to order from. So I grazed at the buffet and just ordered drinks from the waiters.

Another thing I didn't get is why the bars don't display the available drink options? What's the point of keeping the bottles hidden?

When the Wing was built, it probably defined the new standard how J and F lounge should be. By now, there are many other lounges that are nicer in terms of environment. The Wing is still among the best. It depends on the person. I love it because of the food (other has good food too, but just not the same) and the work environment. I have been to lounges that are nicer, but more for relaxation, sipping wine and looking out the windows, but that was not what I was looking for.

I haven't been to the Concorde room (that's only for pax traveling in F, right? Not lowly OW emeralds in J?) However, my partner and I quite enjoyed the BA F lounge. I got a massage, and he snacked.

Same here. I wasn't aware that either lounge had anything besides the buffet. Is that available at both, or just the Wing?

You can ask the waiters and waitresses what are available. My favorites are noodles.
