Waitlist
All,
I am trying to get on CX 753 on 29 Jun from HKG to DEL in Class I. I am waitlisted and they asked me to keep on checking back.
How do I check the status of my reservation online? Do I have to become an Asia Miles member? Will that screw up the fact that my primary FF is AAdvantage and that I want my miles credited to AAdvantage?
All help much appreciated!

That flight is currently sold out in all classes. I doubt CX would clear you into "I" which is discounted business class if any seats up front open up. You'll most likely have to pay full J fare.
I'm not familiar with checking reservations on CX's website, but even if you have to become an AsiaMiles member, you should have no problem switching your FF number to AA prior to boarding (e.g., at check-in).

The reason I am concerned about Asia Miles is that I have status (Oneworld Sapphire) in AAdvantage but none in Asia Miles. Thus, if my PNR in CX shows my AA FF Number, I get status priveleges. I have been told that if I open an Asia Miles account, all my travels on CX will automatically post to that.
Can anyone help me on this? Guy Betsy, I am pretty sure that this is a common question for non Asia Miles FF people wanting to check their booking online.
Thanks,
Panjabi

As you are an OW Sapphire, you will have a higher priority over a regular Asia Miles member. So there is no reason to get an Asia Miles for this matter.
I do not know where you called, but calling MPC is better than calling CX reservation in your case. The only issue I saw from this forum is that the holding time on the phone can be long.

CXFan,
Thank you for your reply. How does one go about calling the MPC if one is not a MPC member? Can I call their Hong Kong number. Will they talk to me if I am a OneWorld Sapphire but dont have any status (or even a membership!) in MPC?
Much appreciated!

You can call the HK number +852-xxxx-xxxx, or call the toll free number from your country....You can follow the automated instructions once connected. The issue is that the holding time is MPC status related, and can be quite long in your case.

Although the MPC number is not a private number, it should not be made known to everyone to call. Only legitimate MPC members should use them otherwise non members would tie up lines that are meant to go to MPC members.
Non members who attempt to use MPC phone lines will be pushed to the back of the queue so it is really useless for anyone else to use them.
Besides, what is the purpose for cxfan1960 to even recommend panjabi to call the MPC line? panjabi is on waitlist, and his AA Plat number is on the res. That is the only way that his waitlist is going to get prioritized. Having a new green MPC number is not going to help one bit. So just keep his Oneworld Sapphire on. That will help the waitlist if something becomes available.
So for panjabi to check his status... is to call to whoever made his reservation in the first place.. which is CX. If its confirmed, CX will either call you or you will find out when you call.
CX has a tendency to hold some J seats up to one week prior departure. So maybe you might be lucky then.

I am also an Aadvantage member. When I called AAdvantage with my CX status, the agent forwarded me to a live reservation agent who was very helpful. Before that I called AA reservations and was being routed in circles, and when I finally got to a reservation agent, she simply ignored me.
AAdvantage agent can also help OW Emerald. I thought that the resverse was also true.
