I agree with all of that - it shows status (including AM/MPC/OW and VIP status), it shows employees or people using employee tickets, and it shows people who have been operationally upgraded. It also shows special meal requests and a few other things (like UM perhaps in your case).
Those who need assistance such as wheelchair, not just UM.
