first class to asia:cx..or? and from?
hi,
i'm going to hong kong and japan this august
i'm already booked on cx250 from lhr in first class.
but i was told that lhr service is far under the usual first class service on cx flights due to unexperienced london crews and that fra or cdg crews are much better and so the service.
du u have other suggestions? still cx,still lhr or it's better to change city of departure or even airline?
thanks

The LHR based crews are not presently A340 trained, thus are not allowed to crew the A340 but only crew 744s. It takes a few days to become A340 trained (less than a week); if and when CX has sufficient LHR based crews, all of the LHR flights will be operated by them ... but until then, all A340 flights have HKG based crews, while most (but not necessarily all) 744s LHR-HKG do not.
The new F/J seats are being installed in 744 and 77W; probably not in the A340s for at least another year. Interesting question which routes will get the new F (it cuts capacity from 14 to 11 seats); I suspect JFK will be the only route with new F in 2007. CX has always been slow in rolling out new cabins, and had to make the announcement early due to pressure from SQ.

You are right, too much wine when I posted, all I could remember is that 3 seats were gone with the new F (which I have yet to see, at least in HKG you can get in to see the mockups). It is of course BA/QF that have 14 F seats, thankfully CX went to 12 with the suites.

As mentioned in above thread HERE about crossposting the same or similar question all over Flyertalk, please restrict your questions to one thread.
