How long is your layover? If it's too long (e.g. 6 hrs) you should take a taxi to downtown Manhattan Beach and hang out.

We layover until about 12:20 am or so. Then off to HKG. So about four hours in LAX.

Ok - visited the lounge on Sunday evening. Good: free food and drink. Bad - I am not sure if overcrowding is typical for LAX lounges but this one was packed to the gills. My party of three had to split up to find seats. I had expected it to be much larger but hey - I don't visit too many lounges so there is that. It is not a very large lounge.

There are a bank of computers (around 20) along one wall which is good because.. there very few power outlets. We couldn't get any work done because the few that were there were around the perimeter of the club and taken up already. Do not count on having an outlet near your seat. :td:

In terms of area and number of seating, is the lounge any larger than the interim J lounge?

I would think that the lounge should be quite crowded during the late night rush period. CX has 2 flights, while QF also has 2 flights, and an earlier BA flight leaving around that time. The capacity of the lounge is 210.

In all honesty I don't know how it compared to the interim lounge - my manager said it was a *vast improvement* and I don't doubt that. I guess I was just surprised that they went through the trouble of building a brand new lounge that could barely handle the rush hour traffic.

But how does it compare to the OLD lounge before the interim lounge.

Actually I quite like the CX F Class lounge before there. It reminds me of the Kai Tak lounge setup (the pre Wing Design - use of dark green) That used to be the theme in SYD/YVR/NRT etc.... brings back good memories!

Do they have a seperate F Class section?

Was this the F or J lounge?

What time did you arrive?

(It's pretty bad that a party of three couldn't find seats together!)

One World Lounge LAX

I arrived at the First Class section of the One World Lounge at 2230 on Wednesday, 7 Nov, about an hour before boarding starts for CX881 (leaving at 0020). There are 90 seats (I counted), and about 10-15 computer terminals. There is also free wi-fi. The lights in the lounge are turned on FULL (maximum intensity) which is not very relaxing for such a late night departure.

The lounge as others said was packed. I was very lucky to find a seat. Seems to be mostly QF passengers.

I really don't know what the One World airlines were thinking building such a small lounge. I did not look in the Business Class One World lounge so can't comment on it's size (or lack thereof).

It is a big disappointment.

The reason why the F lounge is crowded because there are 2 QF flights leaving at roughly the same time (2315 to Melbourne and 2355 to Brisbane)

The Melbourne flight has 14 F seats, and the CX flight has 12 F seats and I don't think QF offers First Class to Brisbane. So where can all those extra people be? Are there that many OW Emeralds out there?

First class passengers, OW Emeralds, and their guests. There are a lot of OW Emeralds (AA EXP) in the US.

Yes most QF pax who fly Aust-USA with any regularity would be WPs - so F lounge.

Is the new lounge the whole floor? The impression I had gotten from previous press releases is that it would be the whole floor. The QF + CX lounge was only part of the floor, so if its the whole floor now it should be plenty of space.

To be clear, you are referring to the new Flounge and not the interim Flounge?

They were referring to the new lounge - fairly accurate description - packed, small and very bright. As well it seems Oneworld enlisted some minimalist named Dieter to select the seating.. low-backed and not too comfortable (erm.. when you actually could get a seat.. :p)

It does sound like the poster was referring to the J lounge.. (I am wondering if they had counted the stools people were sitting on a count of 200 would have been reached).

I had thought the F lounge was only accessable from inside the J lounge but to be fair I did not look inside so it may have the same issues as the J lounge.
