Is the fall 07 completion change definite? No chance of a June 07 so I can check it out en route to HKG?

Zero chance for June; moderate chance for Sept, and most likely it will be Dec.

I passed through LAX last week and asked about the new TBIT lounges. The agent said it is still in the work but no estimated completion date now. :td: Not a good sign. :( number_6 is probably right. :p

Does CX have one of its agents working in the temporary lounge prior to their flights departing?

When I passed by there earlier this month, none of the staff in the lounge were wearing uniforms specific to each airline, so I assume there probably isn't a CX agent there.

An interesing thing is that there isn't a loudspeaker in the lounge so all boarding annoucements are done by bell and an agent walking around with a sign ... very classy!

Also, Wi-Fi is free - I know a few people who purchased the wireless service in the welcome screen.

Thanks for that... its a bit strange and surprising that CX (and all the other airlines) would not have arranged to have even one of their agents available in the lounge prior to flight departure. They would've previously assigned staff to their own lounges, of course.

Not necessarily for third party lounges, unless the lounge is operated by CX at that moment, e.g., SFO BA lounge before the CX873 flight.

Bump.

Looks like it's opening - finally! I'll be over Saturday waiting for CX881 and will try to give a report:

The trailers (that you had to be bused to and from out on the LAX tarmac) that were the temporary lounges are no more. The One World carriers' Biz and First class lounges are now completed and opened today.

Great! Well please post by Sunday! :D I am on CX 881 (monday morning, actually). I'm traveling with a group who tends towards the AC (they normally fly AA for work). Is it possible to use the AC while traveling on CX (CX ticket)? If so I may be dragged into the AC...

You can't access the AC if you are travelling CX as CX is in TBIT and AA is in T4, security would not yet you through. despite the J and F temp lounge looks bad, at least they have FREE drinks and refreshment which the ACs do not have. the FL is good, but nothing special.

We actually arrive at terminal 4 so I still may be out of luck. So there are free drinks and such at this new lounge? That may help sway them!

As well I heard that AC won't let you in if the flight is the "next day" as ours will be?

If I can post a report here, I will.

How long is your layover? If it's too long (e.g. 6 hrs) you should take a taxi to downtown Manhattan Beach and hang out.
