Is there any way to avoid points expiring?
I have about 40K AsiaMile points about to expire at end of Jan 2007. AsiaMiles CS says there is nothing I can do to keep them from expiring...except, of course, to use them!
No plans for travel right now and I really don't want to lose these points. Transferring/exchanging to other programs is possible, but at horribly depreciated transfer value.
Any suggestions?

You can renew your Asia Miles for another 3 years, although I have never done it myself. After you log in your Asia Miles account. Go to "Manage Your Miles" then "Renew Your Miles". There is a fee of US$10 per 2000 miles you like to renew.

No, as mentioned above there is no way except to either use the miles or pay.
Why don't you just redeem a ticket to somewhere you might use in the future?
Asiamiles are good for upgrade awards at a few airlines as well.
If none of these options are possible you could always redeem your miles for non air- related items, there is a very very long list at asiamiles.com.
