Connecting at HKG

After arriving in HKG from New York, my wife and I have a two hour layover at HKG before our connecting flight departs for Manila. Do we have to clear security or HK immigration before going to our connecting flight? Both flights are on CX.

Which actually means yes to your first question - there is a security check at the transfer point between the arrival and departure levels. But there are none of the restrictions on liquids etc on flights within Asia, and security at HKG is very efficient.
