Internet Access In-Flight

Awhile ago I got an email from CX's previous inflight email provider (forget the name) that said they are ceasing service. It was since my last CX flight in April or May.

Does anyone know if there is any type of internet or email service now offered aboard CX and if it is fleetwide or on select aircraft.

Forgive me if this was covered somewhere else but I couldn't find it, however, I am not that adept at the search feature on here.

I have a JFK-YVR-JFK and the LHR-HKG-BKK/SIN-HKG-LAX trip coming up so would like to know.

Thanks!

I'm afraid you're out of luck. The Netvigator email service was terminated in June and so far there is no replacement. From what I hear, CX is waiting for its existing contract with Tenzing to expire (I think they're a shareholder), then there's a chance they'll go with Boeing's Connexion service. All of that will, I fear, be a fair way down the track.

I think a general lack of interest. It always worked fine for me too (my ISP in HK is Netvigator anyway), but I've heard that many people had problems getting it to work.

Also, I believe CX wants to introduce full internet access rather than just a fairly limited email system.

All supposition on my part though!

Never got it to work. Boeing Connexion is great though. Of course you have got to fly LH or SQ for that...
