I was on my trip LAX-MNL last August 6, arrived Manila August 8th and everything was superb, I was supposed to come back on August 9 CX 900/CX 882, coz I have a very important meeting to catch up in L.A. by 5 p.m. From Manila today ( August 9, 2005 ) I checked in around 10:30 A.M. for my CX 900 flight which will depart 12:30 P.M. at the counter I was informed the flight will be around 1:00 p.m and I still have time for my connecting flight to CX 882. Then when I was at the lounge, it was announced that the flight is postponed to 2:05 P.M. I asked the lady from the lounge she said it's a mechanical problem they had to change the plane, and she assured me that I will be able to take my flight to LAX on CX 882. upon boarding cx 900, i even informed the ISM and she told me that , " she think" cx 882 will wait for us since we were like 15 passengers getting that flight. We arrived hongkong 4:10 p.m. and when i got out, a lady ( supervisor of cx ) said the plane is leaving and I have to take cx880 instead arriving LAX 9:45 p.m. and that's a big NO-NO since my meeting will be at 5 p.m. and it's a big business deal I will be having, I was almost crying and wanted to shout at her but I know it's not her fault. Anyways, she offered me a hotel voucher at regal and some complimentary calling cards. She gave me a card where to file a complaint. Right now i am here in CX lounge and praying that I can move my meeting on wednesday. If not i'll be deadmeat. This is the 2nd time happened to me last time, they had to divert a flight so I was not able to attend my brother's wedding and now this???? Do you think I should be compensated for this? Waiting here in HKG for 7 hours is no joke.... and the hassle of me being tired with back to back long haul flight and thinking about my business dealing tomorrow

JNL- My sympathy! I have one suggestion which may sound stupid (and indeed defeating the purpose of "being there in person"). Do you know if there are teleconferencing systems at CX Wing/Pier? I hope you will be able to postpone your meeting, but if not, teleconference may be an option. Good luck! I think most of us have been in your shoes at one time or other.

but it's impossible since it's only 730 am there in L.A. he must be still sleeping in the hotel. as far as i know he just arived from sydney yesterday.
