Haven't had a Vegetarian meal for a long time, but I recall CX's oriental is usuall Gluten and some type of noodles (non egg)

Make sure you are not on the Vegan meal ( i heard it is terrible)

what is a Vegan meal?

CX told me that there is this vegetarian pasta dish on that flight, should I take that instead?

BTW, what are the difference between business and economy's oriental vegetarian?

The details of what is a Vegan meal are at the link I gave you. Essentially it means no animal products of any type: no dairy, no eggs. There is pretty much always a veggie pasta dish as one of the main course options on CX long-haul J. Often a spinach & ricotta ravioli served with a tomato-based sauce. It's OK, but not that special. I have heard good reviews of the Indian Vegetarian dishes if you like spicy food.

CX seems to go to some trouble to ensure that there is always a non-strict vegetarian meal amongst the regular options (some other airlines are doing this now too). This will be vegetarian but not kosher or halal and includes dairy and egg but not meat. That includes snacks (though some have components like chicken soup stock which probably is stretching it a bit too much).

Be careful if the only choice offered is an "Asian Vegetarian" meal...

Because if you fly out of most CX stations, you'll get a Chinese styled vegetarian meal.

But if you order that out of LHR, you might end up with an INDIAN vegetarian meal!

Will people PLEASE go to the CX website link above before speculating what CX do and don't offer. All the meal options (which are available from all ports) are explained there! It states explicitly that "Oriental Vegetarian" is Chinese-style. If you want Indian style then (surprise, surprise!) you order "Indian Vegetarian", unless you are very strict in which case you order "Strict Indian Vegetarian" (which is vegan and no root vegetables). You also have the options of "Western Vegetarian" and "Strict Western Vegetarian" (= vegan).
