Amex conversion promos ?

Since I picked up my Amex a few months ago, have been exploring the possibilities with Amex/Asiamiles (I'm mostly a * flyer)...Is there any history of the odd promo for converting Amex points to Asiamiles ??

After having the Amex card for 4 months and now with 1M+ Amex points, it's getting interesting

Are you subscribed to the Triple Plus program? That is pretty much the only benefit that Amex provides. Its quite a good benefit though $HKD 4 = 1 mile.

Yeah - actually for new card applicants, they're offering a double-triple (for the first 6 months only) meaning 1 miles = 2 HKD...that's really a steal. By the end of my 6 months, I reckon I'll have 2M+ points (i.e. more or less 2 CX J class to LHR)...

Just wondered if I could hoard the points and then wait for a 8 Amex = 1 mile kinda promo...

Where can I find out more about this? And I thought the Triple Plus Program (3 points for HKD$1) only limits you to $312000 spending and after that 1 points for HKD$1?

Correct on the latter - max 312K/year.

The "double triple" is for new applications only - it was an offer they were running last year that's been extended..wierdly enough, they don't seem to mention it on the website. This one only up to a max of 1M points, but still means in the first 6 months of having my card, I'll have got around 2.5M points or approx 200K miles..

Whe does CX accept Membersship Reward point from AMEX like another of other airlines. You can cash in points for economy tickets but that's it. It is not fair that AMEX holders (this one being Centurion) from North America are not given the same options as Asian card holders. I feel that this should be universal for all.

I agree - Citibank does the same thing as well. It disadvantages US base CX flyers.
