I somehow don't seen how CX could derive such mass amounts of demand to fly to XIA... Unless it goes on some MASSIVE advertising campaign, CX is mostly unheard of in mainland China... (recently went on BJS flight 60% capacity)... moreover, the aircraft utilised will obviously be the A330... KA only uses its A320 and then doesnt even fill the capacity at times!!!

BJS I went for CX but that was only done out of loyalty... talk about a sickening schedule... ughhhh.... getting up at 4 in the morning wasting an extra night... sigh.... XIA I would easily go for KA in a second ... we'll have to wait for SHA... that should be interesting... =)

Do you get MPC club sectors/miles when you fly on KA? They are an asia miles partner so I expect you would get asia miles.

no club sectors or miles on KA, just the asia miles credit.

GK there is not much worth seeing in XMN (other than the Taiwanese guns and propagange posters on the offshore islands and some 18th century buildings which are quite lovely), but there is a lot to eat in XMN. Excellent dumpling restaurants on the high street (no particular recommendation).

Great. I have been waiting this for a long time. I hope they can increase the frequency to daily.

I don't see any record of this on cathaypacific.com, either in the booking engine or in the press release section. When should we expect a formal announcement?

Doesn't CX do quite a bit of maintainance work at TAECO (HAECO's joint-venture at Xiamen)? If they're already ferrying planes between HKG and XMN, why not sell a few passenger tickets?
