CX's 346
How many does CX Have??
According to the homepage they have 3.
I just want to know how is it possible for both:
CX889 and CX 831 will be using the 346 in January 2005 and also CX100/101 will also be scheduled on a 346?
How is this possible? as I thought the CX831 MUST be on a 346 due to range limitations on other aircrafts?

Yah.. CX has 3 of them
Yah... it's possible for 2 to be dedicated to NYC with the third flying SYD. Otherwise you will have one just sitting around not doing much.

Then where do they get another 2 to serve the CX889/888 as well at the same time?

BTW, thanks for the tipoff, I just checked my personal itinerary and my January SYD 346 flight has changed to the 34C
I like the 346 better.

Sorry. My mistake. I read it as CX830/831. Not CX888/889 and 830/831.
Hmm. You're right. Unless CX is getting new aircraft that we don't know about, yes it does seem kinda tight.
It usually happens once or twice a year, when one or two aircrafts are due for their C checks and CX has to fill in the spaces.

from cx internal website the 3rd 346 may be deployed either on the 101/100 or 3 times per week on the YVR/JFK as 889/888. a decision will be made soon and will post it here when (if) it's made.
my return flight from sydney yesterday was a 346 (the dreaded HQA)

I have reserved seats on CX889 already and the seat config it shows is a 346 at present.
Wow it seems that CX's fleet is stretching to the limits already.
When will those 2nd 744 they purchased be ready?

In this thread (and another IIRC) there was some discussion of HQA needing some repairs:

My gut feeling is that A346 will go to YVR. With 3 daily flight to Sydney, I do not see the need for ridiculous amount of J cabin 60+2otherA333 per day.
YVR on the other hand, lost fair amount of Biz capacity after 74J is gone. I would think YVR needs A346 more, considering the popularity of midnight flight out there.
Besides, 60J seats is like a near-certain up-up potential for elite members during busy times.
Too bad my flight is planned on CX838/839.
