First CX Flight
Hi all,
I'll be taking my first CX flights in July:
July 8 CX 873 SFO HKG
July 9 CX 400 HKG TPE
July 11 CX 467 TPE HKG
July 12 CX 872 HKG SFO
All in J (Transpacs on upper deck)
If anyone is on my flights I'd be happy to say hello. Additionally, if anyone wants to get together for a drink or meal (or both
) on the 12th in HKG (likely staying at the Pen) please let me know.
JD

Happy Flying...
For a moment, I thought you were going to ask the inane question of "What to expect" for your first CX flight...
One thing's for sure... you'd wonder what the US carriers are doing!

Flying CX is truely wonderful. While I have never flown CX Y (poor me....only J and F
), I would presume it probably gives any US domestic carriers FC a run for its money, save for the larger seat.

.I've known for quite some time what the US carriers are doing -- turning their aircraft into cattle cars with stern taskmasters (FAs)

I flew HKG-NRT-LAX on CX connecting to AA.
I was upgraded on CX to J, and well, AA was full in J so I had to contend with Y. AA trumps CX over its seat pitch only. Everything else.. eg non-smiling crew, to quite dreadful food... well, can be left to your imagination.
Even in the premium classes, CX's J even beats AA's F in terms of service, though some would argue that they prefer AA's F seat. Anyway, CX treats me well.. and I'd choose them over anyone else if I can help it. Unfortunately, today's flight was a return sector.. so had to use it up.

missing you both by a couple of days...
I'm also on my first CX flights:
LHR-HKG 24 Jun
HKG-TPE 27 Jun
TPE-HKG 29 Jun
HKG-LHR 2 Jul
Any thoughts on 747 vs 340 in J, and which are the better seats ?
