cgk turnaround
I did a search, but could not find any recent information, so...
I am planning a HKG-CGK-HKG turnaround as part of a rtw mileage run. I will have spent a couple of nights in HKG and then am booked to leave there at 9:30 a.m. arriving CGK at 1:10p.m. and leaving again at 3:05 p.m. in first class.
A couple of questions:
1. Is there a place where I can leave my luggage in HKG? I will probably spend the night after the turnaround at a hotel near the airport (suggestions on which hotel would also be appreciated). I know that at one time there was a place to store luggage at the airport. Does that still exist? If so, where is it and what is the cost?
2. Is it possible to get both boarding passes in HKG?
3. Is there a transit desk in CGK? If so, where is it and how does that process work?
4. Will I need to pay a departure or airport tax? How much, where, in what currency?
5. What is the lounge like there?
Thanks for your help!

1. Yes, in HKG you can store your luggage at a place located on the arrivals level between the two exits from baggage claim. It's kind of expensive, as I recall.
2. Don't know.
3. Yes, there is a manned transfer desk available before you hit immigration.
4. The departure tax is 100,000 rupiah and I suspect you will be exempt as long as you remain in transit (I've never done this, so I'm just guessing based on the fact that the payment of this tax is verified before entering the departure hall, rather than at the gate).
5. The lounge is okay, but nothing special. It doesn't stand out in my mind as being particularly good or bad. It's definitely not worth special mention.

http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/aguide/baggage.html has details.
But surely if you are going to stay at the Regal Airport Hotel (the only one anywhere near the airport) the next night then you could simply leave your bag with the concierge there?

My plan is to leave the luggage at the Regal, if I arrive in time to do so. But, in case I am running late (as I tend to hit the snooze buton on my alarm clock) I have a backup plan.

Fair enough, but going to the Regal reception shouldn't add more than 10 mins, so you'd have to be cutting it really fine!
Why not stay at the Regal for the night before your 9am departure? The it all becomes easy.

I thought of staying at the Regal the night before my flight, but I only have a couple of nights in HKG and hope to stay at the Pen. I was there a couple of years ago and cannot imagine not returning!
