HK Express with CX codeshare.
I’ve got a booking CNX-HKG-PVG on a CX flight number on both flights. The CNX-HKG sector is operated by HK Express. I’m oneworld Emerald (BA Gold) and it’s unclear whether or not I will get an extra baggage allowance.
Does anyone have experience of this. I’m aware that a booking made directly with HK Express wouldn’t qualify but unsure as it’s a CX code.

I don't have an answer to your question, but my guess is no, nope, nicht. HK Express is a fine airline (especially for the price), but rather, ahem, egalitarian, and by the book. Their IT systems aren't designed to play well with others, and the fact that you wish for a giraffe as a OWE Emerald is probably something that does not register with their ethos.

The closest I find is here. You'll get "certain benefits", is the language they use, of the CX ticket on the UO ticket.
Cathay members also can get lounge access, but they are quite clear to not mention OW. You'll get lounge access anyway in HKG as a OWE for a CX departing flight. But my point is, they are clear to mention Cathay members as the criteria no mention of OW.

And, to point out the obvious, UO is not a OneWorld airline.

i'm pretty sure you don't get OWE benefits on your UO flight. It's worth mentioning there are a lot of other threads tangental to this, maybe even directly related? If you spent maybe 10 minutes searching you might find something useful.

I’ve spent over 5 hours looking for the answer to this. I’ve contacted both HK Express and CX multiple times and typical of SE Asian service nobody wants to give an answer as they’re all terrified of the repercussions if they get anything wrong. UO say it’s up to CX and CX say it’s up to UO.
if anyone one of them gave you the wrong answer , and you come back for them , they will get into a very big trouble , so they just keep kicking the balls to the others.
the best correct answer will be asking at the lounge.

Extra luggage is a OW benefit, not one related to the ticket. UO is not member of OW, I very strongly doubt that they would grant a OW benefit.

Definitely don't get extra luggage as a DM / OWE in this situation. (If you flew Bangkok Airways (PG) on a CX codeshare, ie CNX-BKK-HKG-PVG, you would get an extra piece) The whole UO / CX partnership is a bit of a shambles...Ive had check-in and luggage issues on both sides

No. It follows whatever on your CX ticket, and oneworld benefits do not apply.

Reminded of FR's latest clickbait
Applies to CX's UO destinations as well - not because we chose the lowest fare, but it's not worth CX offering better. Either no competition or not worthwhile offering the premium service.
