SFO lounge?

Is it open? SFO website says it is permanently closed, but the CX website says it is open depending on flights. There is a noonish flight on the day I want to use it (but flying JL) so wonder if it would be open. Is it in old location or different?

It’s open and located in the same area. As you walk in after reception, only the right side of the lounge is open. The opening hours vary, depending on flights. Most CX flights depart from SFO either before or after midnight or both. But there’s a 13:00 flight on Wednesdays. If your JL flight is on a Wednesday, you might be able to use the CX lounge. Honestly, there's nothing to write home about the SFO CX lounge, it kind of reminds me of the old BKK lounge.

Yes, there is a 1pm flight on the day I'm going so I hope to go there - do they at least have the noodle bar and some salads? I know it's not great but the JL one is a bit worse IMO - but neither are great.
Thank you

Does the SFO lounge's shower stalls still require handing over your BP and collecting an oversized key to unlock the door?

I hated that oversized key -- reminds me of getting a key to the restrooms at US gas stations. No doubt filled with germs that'll make a petri dish blush.

not travelled exSFO in ages

annoying as that bp-key swap was, it brings back a very smiley laced old memory- when the counter staff took back my wifes (GO) key, pulled out the boarding pass, and promptly tore it apart with a

we are not letting her travel.

in business

giving her a red bp (Id already got one at check in).

Collecting the key yes, but no handing over bp. They do ask for your last name and write it down on a piece of paper.
