Date change with BA involves re-issue?

Dear Flyertalkers,

I was unable to find an answer in previous threads, so I ask your expert advice.

I need to change the date of an upcoming flight with BA (booked using CX miles) to one day later. Flight is available with same routing & flight numbers, only date change.

Does this require a ticket re-issue (or not) for a date change? I ask because when I purchased the flight a few months back, it was 90'000 miles and now is 115,000 miles.

My very best and thanks for your help.

Rebooking still exists, so no change in miles required.

Dear percysmith,

Thank you so much for your reply!

I spoke to two CX representatives today and both told me that I have to refund the ticket at a cost of USD$120, wait for the 90'000 points to be re-credited and then re-purchase at 115,000. I found them unfortunately quite abrupt when I tried to question it. They said because it's an award booking on BA, that's the process... I have never had this problem with other airlines before.

Is there any documentation or a specific phrasing I can use perhaps? I'm unsure how to proceed, but that above, is a rather unfortunate process just to change the flight one day later.

The key word is rebooking, tho even if you can say it in Tagalog, Latin or even Esperanto, its no use if the agents dont understand the concept.
