As am I. It's not the "treat" I expected, but it certainly helps towards requalifying for 2024.

I didn't spot any mention of status points earned in 2022 to be carried forward into 2023. Think that'll happen?

I think the bonus points is kinda generous, and i am appreciative. With the current state of things, its good to be contended.

True. Could have easily been underwhelming lounge passes...

Cathay states "...automatically extending all Silver, Gold and Diamond memberships, as well as any unused mid-status benefits earned this year, until 31 December 2023." (Bolding is mine.)

For example, I had four Diamond upgrades which were earned in previous year (honestly, I forgot which year), but which were extended into this year. Technically-speaking, these upgrades were not EARNED this year, so are they eligible to be extended to 31 Dec 2023?

I have not had time today to contact Cathay for verification. Anyone has a definitive answer to this?

Why dont they just carry forward points earned this year

Now based in US it is quite hard to get enough a year since both BA and AA flights count so little. Better to switch to another program? Building from scratch seems painful ugh

Emmm, I can only get 200 as a GO member but there might be another 100 from the Standard Chartered bank in the coming March. Trying to mileage run to a DM 2023 but its hard to find better routes as China is still lockdown. 650USD to buy a CTU-HKG-BKK for 4 legs in I class with one stopover allowed in HKG and get 10000AM and 120pts is a very good deal and very common price in pre-COVID.

I wonder if this means there will no longer be any status extension in 2023... Not that I mind, as I hope travel will largely resume back to normal for CX next year...

That's another 10 days of "quarantine" upon return to China.

Asia Miles redemption flights based on departure date11
Ticket issued on or before 31 October 2022
and depart on or before 31 December 2022

Does anyone know if there are any requirements/qualifications on the redemption flights?

I booked an economy redemption return flight on Cathay's website, Malaysia Airlines KUL-BKK on Oct 2nd, 2022.
Departure is set for Dec 8, 2022.

I would assume/hope I should be getting 400 status points for my Diamond and my wife should be getting 200 for her gold...?
