Cathay Pacific first Asian carrier to bring HBO Max to every seat

https://news.cathaypacific.com/catha...ry-seat-a5cqjn

Cathay Pacific is premiering the HBO Max branded channel in Asia for the very first time, becoming the first airline in Asia Pacific to introduce HBO Max Originals to its seatback inflight entertainment (IFE) experience.Hong Kong’s home airline will debut the HBO Max brand starting 1 January 2022, bringing more than 200 hours of content in the first three months to every seat. The HBO Max library includes award-winning recent hits such as the first three seasons of Succession, as well as The White Lotus, The Undoing and Mare of Easttown, along with original series such as Friends: The Reunion, Hacks, Gossip Girl (2021) and The Flight Attendant, along with all-time classics including Sex and the City, The Sopranos, The Wire, Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers and much more.
I'm not aware of any other airline with HBO Max.

If a tree falls in the forest but nobody to hear it, will it make a sound?

LOL!

I was just thinking that IFE is not the key to getting butts in seats.

Why watch this on a 10” screen? When I can watch at home on a 65” screen?

Because we need something to help pass the time on a 12+ hour flight?

That assumes that being on a 12+ hour flight on CX is more than just some conceptual possibility at the moment. Or possibly for years to come.

lol! The point is that the capability is there, and you'll have HBO Max on your next CX flight, whenever that is.

There are already episodes of many TV series on CX. Some included in HBO Max. This will add a few episodes of more recent series. Not a great gain. But if they have Game of Thrones, I would be happy.

I makes no difference. I doubt they will have international passenger service again.
