Can I leave the terminal once in the lounge in HKG

Hi All
I have a trip coming up on Monday connecting through HKG. I had built in an 9 hour lay over so we could go into the city for meetings before connecting onto the later flight to HND.
Our flight in from Manchester will arrive at 7am and it might not be clear at that stage if there are issues with heading into town.
would it be possible to head to the lounge, freshen up and asses the situation at 9am and if all is well head into town? Is there a way to be escorted out through the terminal?
All on Cathay flights and OWE if that matters.
thanks

Lounge is after you clear transit security, so not without some work.

I did this myself before from the F lounge. Not easy. Check with the lounge agents. They escorted me backwards thru transit security to the arrival floor, from there you can go thru regular immigration and so on.
It will take some time.

Thanks all. I guess I’ll decide on the morning.

its a real pity the arrivals lounge is closed as it would’ve sorted our problem mostly.

IIRC there's a thread discussing this in detail somewhere. The short answer is maybe/sometimes; and when it is possible, you may still have to wait a couple of hours for someone to escort you out.

Already closed thread https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cath...ng-lounge.html .

The short answer is - not as of right. I do empaphise given the lack of readily accessible alternate arrival facilities especially after Plaza Premium Arrivals closure but there's been no known letup by AAHK/CX due to the latter, nor for recent protests.

To be absolutely honest though, I don't foresee any problem getting to/from Hong Kong Station - throughout this year's protest there's only one or two afternoons/evenings where the Airport Express was taken down.
Hong Kong Station is IFC, so you can avail yourself of a day pass at Pure Fitness for shower and camp out at the Four Seasons or Starbucks to get some work done or do some waiting. Then assess whether road conditions permit you to venture out to your meeting location (that may be harder, depends if the protesters attempt another transportation shutdown like mid-previous week).
