Interestingly enough, I'm on CX338 BRU-HKG right now... Saturday afternoon departure from BRU, and it's completely full in J... I haven't walked back to Y to see how the loading is back there, but this is the first time I can recall seeing it full in J except when FRA was closed due to strike. Trying to figure out why...

[QUOTE=percysmith;31665411]For SYD and MEL, I keep noticing their premium cabins get sold out, and I think cargo should be a worthwhile business too. But their back cabin can't be sold full for love or money./QUOTE]
FWIW I do MEL-HKG rtn every 2-3 weeks (latest today) on 105,163,134 and 178 and loads usually always healthy across all 3 classes. I appreciate that yields are under pressure however.

On loads to and from Aus generally; CX GM for S-W Pacific quoted in The Age today:
"Clearly it's a challenging time for us, and a challenging time for Hong Kong as well. That said … we've also seen a nice amount of resilience from the Australian market. All through this crisis period we've seen good load factors from Australia and we're very grateful for that. Compared to many other countries across the network, Australia is a bright spot for us right now. And that gives us the confidence to bring the A350-1000 into Melbourne, which is a key market for us."

CX should resume Moscow soon as Russia is Rolling out electronic visas soon for the whole country in 2021, its the biggest unserved destination for CX in Europe and its hugely popular for Chinese tourists especially during the summer months (MU and CZ is double daily to Moscow in summer timetable).

For the not so good ones, we should probably look at which ones they've cut back like HKG-YVR which is probably mainly just full of leisure travelers / staff travel.
I'd imagine the JP routes to be very lucrative despite Japan's higher landing fees. Does anyone know if the crew always stays over a night or do they do a same-day turnaround? On the 150am flight to KIX, the crew disembarks on what I'm guessing is a 24-hour layover.

[QUOTE=mucaari;31667945]Actually I think some unexpected routes might be very profitable. I heard for example for BA, some route in West Africa (forgot which one) used to be very profitable due to almost no competition and an almost all-business-traveller demand.
Possibly Abuja?
IIRC LOS (Lagos) had BA, Virgin + Arik in competition. Though basically the Nigerians I worked with (who split time between Nigeria & UK) would shuttle back-and-forth on cheap deals in J on BA or VS; shunning Arik as far as possible. But Abuja I think only had BA on it.

HKSAR passport holders have 14 days visa-free since 2009 https://www.kdmid.ru/docs.aspx?lst=c...ng%20Kong.aspx. If PRC passport holders wish to go to Russia they can well take their own airlines as you suggested.

Russia invaded Crimea, sanctions were imposed, business conditions in Russia hit a rough patch, CX suspended Moscow service.
